All I want is a room somewhere...

Far away from the cold night air,
With one enormous chair,
a bed, a few bars, drinks on tap, warm weather, a PADI dive centre, some culture, a swimming pool (for the lass), entertainment (for the small fry) and preferably a direct flight.

So the "ok" places are looking at around £2,500 and the nice places are going to be more like £3,500 plus a pile for the diving.

So to get 2 weeks of relaxation, I gotta work my proverbials off all year and at the end of the hol, I'm just recovering from the stresses of the year I spent saving up.

Even staying in the UK is getting expensive - you can't have 2 weeks away for 2 adults and a child in August these days for less than a grand. And that is B&B. Add £20 per adult and £10 per child for meals per day (which is quite frugal) and £20 a day for 2 adults to have a drinkie poo and a bit of entertainment and you come to about £2,500 for a fortnight in the UK. You can get pay that and end up in Jamaica.

And that is just silly.
