Only 3 calls from the Boss, only did a couple of hours of tinkering with the corporate LAN to minimise the number of calls to the support desk in the morning, only took a couple of hours to scrape the rust off the sills of the sports car (http://www.gillott.co.uk/matra), only an hour of blasting round the country lanes and only a couple of hours on the red wine to remember that the weekend is now over.
I love the downtime at the end of the day, I just don't get much these days. A bit of Andrea Bocelli or trashy 80s rock ballads depending on the mood. No-one to run around after, just a bit of piece and quiet.
Lovely.
I'd say it doesn't get any better than that, but there's a little paradise island with perfect scuba diving that needs its computers sorting in a morning, some escorted dives in the afternoon and a bar to manage of an evening. When I find it, I'll miss you all, but I'll get used to it. Well, nearly all...I'll still need someone to help me from the bar to my room when I'm too drunk to count up to 5 on my own.
Applications should be made over a beer. You are buying. Any Americans wishing to apply should bring a bag of assorted vowels, commas and apostrophes just in case.
