Well, not entirely but at stupid o'clock on Friday morning in the darkened drizzle in the midst of the roadworks, the long suffering Peugeot ground to a halt for no apparent reason. A keep left sign on a metal frame had been knocked down during the night and the frame itself being black was sitting there waiting for me.
Upshot? CV joint, CV gaiter, inner shaft and a few other minor bits of the steering. OK, so maybe "minor" isn't the right term since steering is quite important. Left the car with the amazing Mr Pete who diagnosed the bad news about 5pm which unfortunately meant the car was still broken that evening when I was due to drive to the country.
Evening consisted of train and tube to pick up small fry and discuss car with Mr Pete. Then train and tube back past my office some 2 hours after I'd left, over to Paddington onto train via McDonalds and over 2 hours from there to Evesham then a 30 minute drive courtesy of my oldest friend.
