Not much progress to report as for some reason my day job keeps getting in the way of deploying toys.
1. All domain controllers are now 2003 and domain functional level has been pushed from Windows 2000 native (which is the minimum) to Windows 2003 since I was on that screen anyway.
2. New server is configured for volumes and has LOTS of spindles. Count all 20 of the SATA things - yum, yum. This includes 5 volume sets each on their own spindles and each weighing in at over 250GB. Should keep them from filling up for a while.
Next step is to install it in a virtual environment along with the virtualised domain controller I will be using to play with AD.
