Sunday dawned late and yet I didn't see it. Yes, feeling grim again.
Up to the Grasshopper for the meeting of the Matra Owners Club for the Winter Run. 2 Bagheeras, 3 Murenas and a Rancho plus an assortment of non Matras for a 32 mile club run through tiny country roads covered in mud, water, hay and other hazards. Add horses, cyclists and other moving hazards and we had to drop to second gear at times. The Bagheera performed beautifully, overheating problem was sorted using an old inner tube (you can cure anything with a rubber!) and the wierd problem of the windscreen wipers coming on during hard right turns was traced to my big foot catching the foot operated wiper switch.
A total of over 120 miles in the little rusty sports car in 24 hours. Also had a go in a Murena. LHD, 2.2 litre engine and really nice condition. Much more power than my little girl, but I still prefer mine thanks. It might not have the power or the top end, but it handles like a go kart, is vaguely quick enough 99% of the time, looks superb and helps keep the midlife crisis at bay. Well, sort of.
Now where did I see that advert for the Honda CBR 600? (www.cbrworld.net)
