Yes folks I'm back on *that* bandwagon again though this time from the driver's seat instead of scraping my hiney on the gravel underneath.
Here's the resolution that worked for me:
Blackberry Enterprise Server version 4.1.4. Install service pack 4 again.
Exchange Server 2007 Client Access Server. Reinstall rollup 4 again.
Exchange Server 2007 Mailbox Server. Reinstall rollup 4 again.
Then a full restart of both CAS and MBX and we were in business again.
