Jake and I wanted some nice chocolate cookies while we were shopping last night. Fresh cookies were £1.19 for 4, buy 2 bags for £1.80 saving £0.58 which is done automatically at the cash till.
The nice lady looking at the cut price section pointed out ones reduced to 20p for a bag of 4. So Jake had a bag, I had a bag and we got one for luck. 60p, 12 cookies and they were still soft. Yum.
Imagine my surprise when the stupid EPOS machine noticed the new price of 20p but still gave us a 58p price reduction for the second bag.
Net cost of the 12 cookies? 2p. One more bag and I'd have had 16 cookies and been given 56p as well. That would just have been greedy...
